Buxton Civic Association welcomes new Trustees and launches Trading Board as part of governance strengthening
Monday 3rd November 2025
Buxton, Derbyshire based charity Buxton Civic Association (BCA) is delighted to announce important developments in its governance and leadership, as it celebrates Trustees’ Week 3rd – 7th Nov 2025. These changes follow a comprehensive governance review, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, as part of BCA’s ongoing commitment to strong leadership and effective stewardship of Buxton’s natural, cultural, and historic assets.
Following the review, BCA is pleased to welcome five new Trustees who have joined the Board: Lindsay Rae, Janice Southway, Paul Finn, Gordon Clark, and Paul Cunningham-Hayes. The new appointments will be ratified at the BCA AGM in January 2026.
Together, they bring a wealth of experience across tourism, marketing, catering and hospitality, woodland and countryside management, and finance — strengthening the breadth of expertise on the Board and supporting the delivery of BCA’s strategic ambitions.
In addition, BCA has established a new Trading Board to ensure HMRC compliance and to help accelerate the growth and diversification of its commercial activities. Joining the Trading Board are Andy Allan, Janice Southway and Marcus Savile, who bring strong business, finance and operational experience to support this exciting new phase.
Dave Green, Chief Executive of Buxton Civic Association, said:
“We are thrilled to welcome our new Trustees and Trading Board members. Each brings valuable experience, enthusiasm, and fresh perspectives that will help us deliver our mission — protecting Buxton’s remarkable natural and historic environment while ensuring our organisation continues to thrive for future generations.”
Peter Phillipson, Chair of BCA, added:
“The governance review has been an important process in ensuring BCA is equipped for the future. These appointments strengthen our leadership and will help us achieve our ambitious plans for growth, community engagement, and conservation.”
These changes reflect BCA’s continued focus on good governance, transparency, and long-term sustainability as it advances its mission to protect and promote Buxton’s unique landscape and heritage — including the management of Poole’s Cavern, Grin Low Woods, and eight other cherished amenity woodlands in Buxton.
