Job Title: Customer Services & Administration Manager
Location: Poole’s Cavern, Buxton
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent (subject to a successful probationary period)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including regular weekends and flexibility to meet business needs.

Are you a natural leader with a passion for customer experience and commercial success? We’re looking for a Customer Services & Administration Manager to take charge of our busy visitor operations and create unforgettable experiences.
This management role gives you the opportunity to shape how people engage with a unique heritage destination while driving performance, leading a motivated team, and making a real impact every day.
What You’ll Do
- Leading and inspiring a team of staff and volunteers to deliver outstanding service.
- Taking ownership of day-to-day site operations as Duty Manager.
- Driving income through admissions, retail, events, and visitor engagement.
- Achieving targets and KPI’s.
- Managing rotas, staffing, and operational performance and administration.
- Using data and feedback to continuously improve services.
- Supporting events and working collaboratively across teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in team leadership within a customer-facing environment.
- A commercial mindset with a passion for driving sales and results.
- Strong administrator able to develop processes and systems.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in managing operations and handling challenges.
- A positive, proactive approach with great communication skills.

Heritage & Sales Assistant
Job Title: Heritage & Sales Assistant
Location: Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park, Buxton, SK17 9DH
Salary: Circa £26,000 pro rata, dependent on experience. Paid monthly on a salary basis.

About the Role
The Heritage & Sales Assistant is a varied frontline role combining customer service, sales, heritage interpretation, conservation support, and site operations.
You will play a key part in welcoming visitors, promoting tours and experiences, supporting retail and admissions sales, and helping us maximise income to support the wider charitable work of BCA. Alongside visitor-facing duties, you will also support conservation activity within the cavern, assist with site maintenance and presentation, and contribute to learning and engagement activities across our woodland and heritage sites.
What you’ll do
- Delivering outstanding customer service and creating memorable visitor experiences
- Promoting tours, retail products, donations, memberships, and visitor experiences
- Supporting sales targets through proactive upselling and visitor engagement
- Leading guided tours and assisting with school and group visits
- Supporting conservation and heritage care within Poole’s Cavern and across BCA sites
- Assisting with site maintenance, inspections, cleaning, and presentation
- Supporting events and wider public engagement activities
- Helping visitors use digital interpretation tools and visitor apps
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers
What We’re Looking For
- Friendly, confident, and enthusiastic when engaging with visitors
- Commercially aware and actively driving income generation
- Passionate about heritage, conservation, tourism, or the environment
- Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in a varied operational role
- Adaptable, proactive, and able to work well within a team
- Confident using digital systems and technology
- Able to work weekends and school holidays
Experience in visitor attractions, tourism, hospitality, retail, heritage, or outdoor engagement would be highly beneficial.
