Frequently asked questions
Sadly, our events are no longer free!
We now must charge a small fee per session to help us cover our costs!
Often, we still run things at a loss – so any donations are gratefully received 🙂
Thank you to various funders – mostly The National Lottery, who have allowed us to mostly provide sessions at no charge for the past three years.
You can book on to an event or series of events through Eventbrite.
Yes, absolutely.
For some events, we will ask you to fill in a form at the start which includes some details such as medical conditions, allergies and next of kin details. We will store this information securely and will use it in the event of an emergency to ensure you get appropriate medical care.
Please let us know in advance of an event if you have a medical condition which may impact on your ability to take part or you think you will require some extra support to take part. We will then work with you to adapt the event or activity where this is possible. Please do this by emailing Frag on Frag.Last@buxtoncivicassociation.org.uk
Events at Grin Low Woods and Buxton Country Park will have access to toilet facilities at Poole’s Cavern Visitor Centre. Events taking place in other locations will not have access to toilet facilities unless otherwise stated.
When attending any of our events, please dress appropriately and come equipped for the inclement elements of Buxton’s weather. Be prepared for anything and everything! Waterproof clothing, warm layers, firm footwear etc are useful all year round. You may also consider hat, gloves, sunscreen etc as the seasons dictate.
Some events may ask you to bring other things – for instance a blanket or mat for sitting, pencils, sketch pad or notebook. Please see individual event descriptions.
Please also bring along your own face covering and hand sanitiser.
Be aware of others and follow social distancing guidelines, by keeping two metres apart from other visitors where possible.
Be mindful of our woodlands and please take any litter home with you or place it in a bin if there is one nearby. Help us by keeping the woodlands free of litter for the benefit of everyone including the wildlife.
Yes – but unless otherwise stated, children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to our events. Sometimes, adults will need to book additional tickets in order to attend – this should be in the event/session details on Eventbrite.
Some of our events are targeted at children and young people – and this will be made clear in the event description.
